Bessa R with Voigtlander 35mm f2.5 Pancake lens
This picture is for anyone who thinks that the film camera scene in Tokyo is comprised of “poseurs”.
Judging by the amount of wear on this Bessa it’s also a fairly good illustration in proving that a photographic life unconcerned with further gear acquisition is perhaps possible. Think of all the money he was free to spend on film and photo paper by not buying a Leica and a few lenses.
Speaking of the humble Bessa R, for what it is worth a classmate of mine at the University of Nebraska got into Yale’s photo grad program with the work he made with this camera and the other version of this lens.
